Truth be told, I have only ever spend three days in Singapore. Unfortunately. I didn´t have great expectations before I went and was most of all looking forward to flying with the legendary Singapore Airlines. But I was very pleasantly surprised. I loved the mild climate, the really good restaurants and hotels. Of course I had to visit the legendary Raffles Hotel.The atmosphere of the hotel really sets you back to another time. The hotel opened in 1887, named after the founder of Singapore Stamford Raffles. In 1902 the last tiger of Singapore was chased to and shot down at the bar and billiard room in Raffles. Theres several restaurants, bars, a bakery and a lovely tropical palm-court a the hotel, and I dined at the highly recommendable Raffles Grill. Remember to try out a Singapore Sling on the Long Bar Terrace before dinner!
